"Coloured" featured as part of SAHO film festival

19 Aug 2019 - 14:15

Coloured, a  documentary produced by the Centre for Curating the Archive, will be part of South Africa History Online's film festival programme later this month. The documentary focusses on two pageants, Miss May Western Cape and Spring Queen, and follows the journey of those seeking recognition and struggling to find a place in a post-apartheid society.

The film festival, in honour of womxn's month, is a public event that celebrates and raises awareness around South African womxn. The festival aims to commemorate all womxn, so as not to erase or exclude those who do not fit into prescribed gender or sex catergories.

Date: 31 August 2019

Time: 13:00-18:00

Venue: Ashley Kriel Hall, Salt River
