Andrew Putter is a Cape Town-based artist, designer and teacher. He was a winner of the Spier Contemporary Award in 2007, and of a National Teacher Award in 2004. He taught design at Rondebosch Boys’ High School for 11 years, and was a co-writer of the national design curriculum for South African high schools. Putter is associated with many of Cape Town’s most important collaborative and public art projects of the last 15 years, including MCQP, Softserve, Ydetag and Public Eye. His work has been exhibited on numerous occasions, including the 2nd Johannesburg Biennale, the Frankfurt Art Fair, and the 10th Havana Bienale in Cuba.
